sn03gd_i.jpg Discovered visually by amateur Robert Evans of Austrailia. Another supernova in M74!   This one is a type II, found about one month after the explosion.   This is not supprising as M74 just came out of solar conjunction.   Note that this is a morning object at the time of discovery.   We have a DSS Photometry reference image made by Odd Trondal.  Icon generated from Ted Dobosz's confirmation image.
