Supernova 2006X in M100

This page is devoted to information on Supernova 2006X in NGC 4321 = (M100).   Basic information on this SN, including the last reported brightness, on this Supernova can be found on the main page.  Information on the original web pages for many of these images can be found on the updates and links web pages.

sn06x_i.jpg Discovered is shared by Shoji Suzuki (Japan) and M. Migliardi of CROSS (Italy).   A type Ia supernova found 1-2 weeks before maximum light.   M100 is one of our more prolific galaxies when it comes to supernovae.   This will be the fifth one observed in the 100+ years we have been looking.   The last one was 1979C.   We have a DSS Photometry reference image made by Odd Trondal.  Icon generated from the CROSS color image.   This supernova is in the Constellation Coma Berenices.

The following is a list of images of this SN, in chronological order. Click on the name in the "Image Credit" column to see the image. Times and dates are in UT unless otherwise noted. If you know of any others, please tell me!
