This image in the H-alpha was taken of the active sunspot area 1445 just coming into view on the sun's eastern limb. It's the result of about 120 frames taken from 500 frames at 1 p.m. EDT today. The frames were stacked in Registax 4 and cropped, sharpened, etc. in Photoshop. High winds were a problem all day. Notice tha large number of filaments around this group. Bob McGovern.
