All Young Astronomers and their parents/grandparents are invited to join us Saturday January 21st at the Farash Center/ Wolk Observatory in Ionia for an afternoon and evening of fun, food and astronomy, from 2PM till about 8PM. If there’s snow, we’ll be sledding (so bring your plastic sled if you have one) and searching for animal tracks to identify. If there’s Sun, we’ll be doing some solar astronomy, and if there are stars, we’ll check them out in one or more of the telescopes. Whether or not there’s snow, Sun, stars (or even rain), we’ll be having fun with some activities indoors. Optical illusions, anyone? Try your skill at making a working motor from minimal equipment. Or go on a virtual Moon Scavenger Hunt. Hots, burgers and pizza will be available for dinner. Bring side dishes or dessert and a few $$ to contribute. The event leaders are Joe Altieri; Valerie Rapson; Bob McGovern; Rich Mulvey; Joe DeBell. Please contact Joe Altieri or Bob McGovern with the number that will be attending.
