Northeast Astronomy Forum
Apr 28-29, 2012
A great two day event in its 21st year. All day talks, an astronomy trade show, solar viewing, auction, raffles, etc. See equipment and astro accessories from a wide variety of manufacturers and vendors. A favorite trip for many local club members. Visit the NEAF web site for full details.

RocheStar Fest 2012
TBA in summer 2012
Our own local weekend event with speakers, plenty of kids activities, a dinner on Saturday night, silent auction and hands on demos. Stay tuned for details.

Stellafane Convention
Aug 16-19, 2012
The grand daddy of U.S. astronomy gatherings held at Breezy Hill near Springfield, Vermont. Officially, it's all about telescope making. But it serves as the oldest meeting of amateur astronomers in the nation. Join more than a thousand other avid amateurs and hear talks on every aspect of making astronomical instruments, about observing, etc. There's observing through a huge variety of scopes at night if clear (and not raining!). There's a swap meet, Saturday night main speaker, door prizes, etc. Camping is crude. Visit the Stellafane web site for full details. While you're there, read about the rich history of the convention and about the birth of amateur telescope making in this country.

Black Forest Star Party
Sept 14-16, 2012
The most popular out of town party for members of our club. Hosted by a Pennsylvania club, this great star party features some of the darkest skies in the northeast as well as speakers, door prizes, and lots of friendly astro folks. Attendance is limited so be sure to sign up well in advance as it sells out early. Only about 3 hours drive from Rochester at Cherry Springs State Park in northern PA. Google BFSP for their site to check for new info and registration details. Visit the BFSP web site for full details.
